Op art (optical art) developed in the 1960’s as an artistic style that used geometric shapes to generate optical illusions. With a nod to the genre, designer Remedios Simón created Spiro, a charismatic pendant whose frame contains a mass of irregular wood veneer spirals.
Inside the new Miami Cancer Institute, you’ll find the Spiro by Lzf. The Institute was designed by ZGF and MGE Architects and the design approach was a little different than most. Incorporating a meditation room and various garden terraces, this center incorporates natural, healing elements of design including the Spiro lamp by Lzf.
Designed by Ray Power, Link appears exceptionally dashing in its stacked wood veneer Möbius strips. In mathematics, the Möbius strip is a surface with one continuous side, meaning the Link light is not only handsome, but discerning too.
With its billowy, cloud-like structure, Link is decidedly easy on the eye. Featured in chef Colin Lynch’s Bar Mezzana restaurant in Boston to offer guests a warm and inviting space. Punctiliously crafted, the lamp’s floating form is a clever illustration of wood’s significant potential in lighting design. With a wide range of colors, brighten up any interior with this delicately stacked wood veneer.
Created by Burkhard Dämmer, the I-Club is designed with clean architectural lines and a longer form that will illuminate its surroundings with understated elegance. An innovative lighting series, I-Club has a symmetrical beauty that is replicated across a number of models: suspension, wall, ceiling, floor and table.
Health and wellness doesn’t need to extend solely to decorative fixtures, it can be applied to the architectural ones as well. As a suspension lamp, the I-Club’s extended length is perfect in those environments requiring an extra level of directional light with only one fixture: in a hallway, stairwell, elevator lobby or office space.
The Pleg wall light resembles a folded sheet of paper, putting one in mind of a decorative piece of origami. Designed by Yonoh Estudio Creativo, Pleg is perfect for cozy spaces, bedsides and alcoves, owing to its small size.
Pleg can be installed in four different positions, with light diffused horizontally or vertically from its open sides. At the same time, light emanates warmly through the attractive bent wood veneer. Straightforward, smart and subtle, the Pleg light is modest and charming.
The slightly squat and spherical Poppy lamp is made up of a repeated series of wood veneer strips. With a large gap between each strip on the Poppy emits light with a greater luminosity, its mature form sparkling in full bloom.
Combine for a beautiful cluster of light to make your restaurant stun and enchant. Throughout history, clouds, lamp clusters and constellations have inspired the human mind, exciting our imagination and causing us to ponder many of life’s unanswered questions. Moreover, these visible masses, forms and patterns have provided ample creative stimulation to artists and makers all through the years.
Designed by Burkhard Dämmer, the Poppy pendant is available in small and medium sizes.
With an arresting and dramatic demeanor, Agatha fills the room with her ambient glow and appealing body. Designed by Luis Eslava, Agatha’s elegant interlacing whorls of handmade wood veneer strips spring concentrically from its center, their mass blossoming and flourishing.
Inspired by the celebrated English writer Agatha Christie (fittingly, the light’s structure somewhat resembles the author’s wavy coiffure), the Agatha lamp is sculptural, physical and versatile. Available as a small or large suspension lamp and as a suspension ball, Agatha’s shape alters to some degree -depending upon the angle from which it is viewed- so teasing and titillating the viewer.
Spruce up an office space and increase productivity with the dynamic colors and waves of the Agatha.
